Hope everyone already upgraded his notebook to the latest and greatest Microsoft OS - Windows 7.
If you have Windows 7 64bit you may have encountered into the same issue like I did - in Windows 7 the Biometric Device does not work with the drivers from Dell Website.
Now if you have Dell XPS M1330 with the fingerprint reader the TouchChip you might realised that the installation of Windows Vista Drivers and software from the Dell website:

Go under the section - Security. The software which might be found there is:

does not work in Windows 7 - at least when you install the UPEK software it does not recognize it. So I went to the UPEK website downloaded the:
http://www.upek.com/support/downloads/drivers/windows.asp
Contains legacy driver v155 signed for Windows7. Full driver package including installation of drivers and merge modules for older systems and for W7 (legacy mode) - no WinBio. WinBio W7 driver is available in a separate package. |

now the Software - the UPEK Protector Suite recognize the driver and the device is working now.
P.S: it looks like the 5.6 is the currect version for the 64bit. The 5.8 on the UPEK website is for 32bit.
